ACTON offices across WA thrived despite the coronavirus crisis.
It is awards time for many real estate networks and COVID-19 has seen the traditional glittering ceremonies replaced with online presentations.
ACTON Real Estate broadcast their awards via webcast last month and the offices still celebrated, with many either going out to local venues or hosting an event at their premises.
Chief Executive Officer Travis Coleman said the year so far had presented many challenges. “2020 is a year like no other; we are extremely proud of the way every ACTON office adapted, evolved and grew,” he said. “Our teams not only coped with COVID-19, they thrived.”
ACTON South West received the prestigious Business of the Year award as well as the Property Management Business of the Year (portfolio growth) award. Individual members of the team were also successful, with Lyn Perks named Property Manager of the Year and Sarah Staphorst the joint winner of the Office Administrator of the Year.
Director Steve Papadopoulos said the wins reflected the quality of the people at ACTON South West. “There is a real shift in the industry at the moment and it’s imperative to have good people,” he said. “For example, our sales team is doing more in sales with less people and in the past year our property management team has grown to be one of the largest property management businesses in the region by organic growth and also acquiring two local agencies’ rental portfolios.”
“We have also invested in the very best systems and tools to keep our agency ahead of the typical real estate business and although COVID-19 was challenging, our team already had the technology to deal with buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants with little disruption.”
The coveted Sales Champion award was presented to Carlos Lehn from ACTON Mount Lawley. Mr Lehn also received the award for the highest number of sales (individual), while his assistant Chloe Allen was named Assistant of the Year.
ACTON Mandurah had a lot to celebrate with Andy Miller and Bree Thompson taking home the Sales Rising Star award, Angela Yuen the other joint winner of the Office Administrator of
the Year award, Sandra Barnes presented with the Sales Administrator of the Year award and Bianca White named Business Development Manager of the Year.
ACTON Fremantle and Projects also received multiple awards: Brad Raynor and Glenn O’Connor-Smith were recognised as Team of the Year, Christine Young and Robyn Young earned the Sale of the Year and Highest Number of Sales (team) awards, while the office received the Property Management Business of the Year (income growth) award.
Other major winners were: Fleur Kane, ACTON Coogee (Marketing); Yvonne Harwood, ACTON Strata (Strata Manager of the Year); Laetitia Kurtzman, ACTON Applecross (Customer Service); Melanie Clerkin, ACTON Rockingham (Property Management Rising Star); and Georgia Hagen, ACTON North and West Coast (Property Management Support Person of the Year).
